AEF To Recognise Environmental Champions

Don Burke, the Chairman of the Australian Environment Foundation (AEF), has asked for nominations for the inaugural AEF Environment Awards.  Winners will be announced at the new environment group’s first annual conference in Brisbane on 23 September 2006. 

The Australian Environment Foundation (AEF) is a not-for-profit, membership-based environment organisation having no political affiliation. 

The inaugural Awards will be conferred in three categories recognising those who have done the most to advance the realisation of the Foundation’s values in each of the following fields: 
• the public understanding of an environmental issue or solution to an environmental problem;
• environmental management in agriculture, including aquaculture; and
• environmental management in forestry.
