Tom Bostock was a partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques from 1970 to 2004, and is presently Special Counsel to Gadens Lawyers, practising principally in corporate law. He is also a director of the Lavoisier Group, a body dedicated to drawing public attention to the controversial and hotly contested state of the science about global warming and the cost to the Australian economy and to Australians generally of mandatory reductions of carbon emissions.
It is perhaps a sign of our heavily regulated times that the Foundation, being a public company in the tentacles of the Corporations Act, finds it handy to have a corporate lawyer on its board.
Tom believes that AEF, being a member-based body dedicated to applying evidence-based science to the assessment of environmental problems and their solution, can make an important and much needed contribution to environmental debates in Australia. |
